The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, having its principal office in the United States of America, at 120 Broadway, Suite 1540, New York, New York 10271, a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of New York, State Corporate Identification No. 4542604 (hereinafter referred to as "We", “Us”, “USCJ”) respects the privacy of our users and takes great care to protect your personal data. This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the platform known as “USCJ ǀ The Commons” (hereinafter referred to as the "Platform"). When leaving this Platform, please read the Privacy Policy applicable to the Platform you are thereafter visiting. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Platform. By entering and using this Platform you (hereinafter referred to as "You") declare your agreement with this privacy statement, You expressly accept and give your unambiguous consent that Your Personal Information gained with registration on this Platform, or in connection with your use of the Platform, with respect to the Platform, may be transferred across international borders to server locations supporting the Platform (including but not limited to transfers from those locations back to the country of your registration) for operating and developing the Platform, including transfers to USCJ subcontractors, agents or representatives, who perform tasks related to the Platform and services, or for the purposes of storing the data in relevant databases.

NON-PERSONAL INFORMATION AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED

USCJ is committed to protecting the privacy of Platform visitors. This Platform gathers certain information such as internet protocol (IP), IP address, internet service provider (ISP), operating system, demographic information, and browser type, on a statistical basis only. This information is not linked to any specific personal entity. Please note that USCJ may provide aggregate statistics about its users, traffic patterns and other statistics of certain activities related to Platform, to trusted third parties in order to continue improving this Platform, but these statistics will not include any personally identifying information.

USCJ collects Personal Information that You provide to Us for the purposes of provision, development and personalization of the Platform, technical administration, services and/or products, research and demographics, statistics, and user support including our personal communication with You in order to respond to Your questions and fulfill Your requests. USCJ will on its own initiative, or at Your request, replenish, rectify or erase any incomplete, inaccurate or outdated personal information retained by USCJ in connection with the operation of this Platform.

You have the right to access, modify, correct and eliminate information You provided to Us. We will comply with Your requests unless there is a legal obligation which prevents us from such action.

DATA RETENTION

Your personal information will be retained until You close Your account or We close it when You fail to follow Terms of Use of this Platform. We will continue retaining information about You in the minimum volume in order to meet legal requirements and to enforce this Privacy Policy. However, we may retain data that are not of personally identifiable nature.

MINORS

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important to Us. For that reason, We do not collect or maintain information on our Platform from those we actually know are under 14, and no part of our Platform is structured to attract anyone under 14, and no information may be submitted to USCJ via the Platform by persons who are under the age of 14. 

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL USCJ, ITS EMPLOYEES OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, SALES, DATA OR COSTS OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES, PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, INTERRUPTION OF BUSINESS, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION OR FOR ANY SPECIAL, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, ECONOMIC, COVER, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, HOWEVER CAUSED AND WHETHER ARISING UNDER CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER THEORY OF LIABILITY, ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THIS PLATFORM, EVEN IF USCJ OR ITS AFFILIATES ARE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. BECAUSE SOME COUNTRIES AND JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY, BUT MAY ALLOW LIABILITY TO BE LIMITED, IN SUCH CASES, THE LIABILITY OF THE PROVIDER, ITS EMPLOYEES OR LICENSORS OR AFFILIATES SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE SUM OF USD 100 (OR THE NEXT HIGHEST SUM TO WHICH LIABILITY MAY BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW).

SEVERABILITY

Should any of the provisions hereof be or become unenforceable, inapplicable, invalid or illegal, this shall not affect the validity of the other provisions hereof, which shall remain valid and enforceable in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. Should any of the provisions hereof be or become unenforceable, inapplicable, invalid or illegal, such invalidity being caused by any of its parts, such provision shall continue to be valid as if the invalidating part was omitted.

Spam Defense
The IPS Spam Defense Service passes the email address and IP address of the registering member to the service to determine the likelihood a registering account is a spam source.
